Trends influence the living room furniture present in homes. The trends in furniture also impact home staging. Changes made in home staging according to the current trends definitely impact the sale of modern furniture. Following are the furniture trends that prevailed in the year 2014: Innovative patterns and designs for couches and chairs: In the year 2014, prints and designs became quite a trend for sofa couches and living room chairs. The creative patterns became even more famous for those sofas and chairs that were set against white backgrounds. To follow this trend you can have some dark colored accent chairs along with a designed sofa set. Antique and handcrafted furniture blended with modern set-up: A number of living room furniture designers are experimenting fusion furniture. They are blending old and new furniture. Antique furniture items or handcrafted items, from other parts of the world, are considered as trendy if they are matched with modern furniture or used as functional additions to the existing furniture. A big No-No to huge and overpriced furniture: During the last year consumers were meticulous about their furniture choices. They kept away from buying large furniture that would occupy too much space in their living room. They chose to be practical and selected modern furniture that was not huge but efficient; furniture that provided much facility while occupying small space. They were also eager only for buying cost-efficient furniture instead of going for expensive designer pieces. They wanted their living room to be functional and cost effective. Color white is chic: Having white in your living room furniture is the style. White as background color or furniture finish became more popular last year. This is because white not only serves as a good background for different colors of furniture pieces but it also makes your living room more bright and airy. Home Office furniture: With the world is going virtual there is an increasing number of people working from home. While it is a great idea, one also needs to arrange their furniture in a way that helps them create an office – like atmosphere filled with an air of professionalism. There was more demand for furniture that can be used both for personal and office purpose. There was an increased demand for desks, chairs, and workstations that blend together function and comfort. Hence, today’s living room furniture can serve not just the guests of the house or family members but it can also be useful for the one who is earning the bread right from the ‘home desk’.
