How to Feng Shui Your Bedroom
We’ve noticed that a lot of people that come into our store want to know what to do to create positive energy in their bedrooms. Positive energy in Chinese is referred to as chi – a common feng shui term.
If you are looking to turn your bedroom into a more sensual room, consider the basic elements of feng shui to promote a harmonious and balanced space.
Below is a list of 7 very simple steps you can take to really bring harmony and balance to your room.
Step 1 – Declutter your room. Make sure to clear everything off your dressers, get your exercise equipment out as well as your computer and TV. You should get rid of anything that’s associated with bad memories as well as anything broken. All these things can block positive energy.
Step 2 – When painting your bedroom, use warm skin colours – anything from peach pale to darker brown shades will do the trick as these will create a sense of sensuality and harmony.
Step 3 – Positioning your bed away from the door also helps. This promotes a sense of security in the bedroom. Ensure that your head isn’t close to any mirror or window – this is where chi can easily escape. If you have a bigger room, make sure that you don’t place an entire side of the bed against the wall. This doesn’t allow for a free flow of positive energy. You should also keep your bedroom doors closed at night – especially if you have a bathroom in your room.
Step 4 – If you’re going to be buying new furniture, make sure to get pieces with edges that are curved or rounded so they don’t cut into chi. If you already have pieces with edges, you can soften the squares by draping fabric over them.
Step 5 – Create a sense of balance in your room by pairing objects together.
Step 6 – Put a beautiful piece in front of you so you see it first thing when you wake up. When choosing paintings or small decorations, choose images that you hope will come true in your life.
And finally,
Step 7 – Open windows as often as possible to keep positive energy circulating.
