Have you ever gone to the net to search for something, but didn't know what exactly to type into Google? Countless times I've had a picture of something I was looking for in my mind, but when it came to searching on line, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to type in! There are a plethora of terms used in furniture design and construction that many of us don't know, and would probably benefit from knowing. Well Decorium wanted to make things a little easier, by educating our readers on common terms that most people don't consider when looking for furniture and accessories. Over the next little while we will be supplying you with a furniture glossary, containing current ideas and pictures of furniture and design terms, to help spark ideas, and to help you find what you're actually looking for. Marking the beginning of our ongoing glossary, todays letter is A. Amphora: A vessel used to transport liquids from one location to another. This version is a vase which can be used as an accent or to house an exotic fresh flower.

Armoire: A French term used for a large movable closet or wardrobe, originally used to store armor.
