When we design an interior, there is always the first thing that you see when you go into a room, whether it is a house or a condo. It is such an important thing, that you design the room around this item.

Usually, it could be a piece of art, a mirror, a piece of furniture, an accent color, etc.

It is an exercise that everybody should do before they even start their interior design decoration: go into a room and pay attention to the first area that your eyes go to. It could be a window, a wall.

One of the things you can do to emphasize the focal point in a room is to paint the focal point wall in a different color from the rest of the walls, you can choose a piece of furniture like a display unit, a curio cabinet, or a credenza with a mirror or a picture on top, you can choose a color on the furniture at the focal point, and the rest of it should be neutral shade. This way you create a statement, a conversational situation that everybody will talk about and it will help you organize the rest of the room.
