Furniture Toronto - Decorium Donates To Worthy Causes

The Forberg family has been donating both time and money to such worthy causes as the Baycrest Foundation to fight Alzheimer's, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Habitat For Humanity, The Salvation Army, United Way, Sick kids foundation, BBYO (formerly B'nai B'rith Youth Organization) and other formidable charities. Decorium's successful history as a prominent home furniture showroom has empowered our family to give back to the community so that worthwhile causes continue to thrive and provide less fortunate people with the critical support they need. It would be encouraging to see other furniture Toronto competitors follow in Decorium's footsteps and become more involved in the communities they are a part of. We hope that leading by example will encourage more people and business's to give to those who are less privileged and in need of support!

Hockey fans, their friends and families enjoyed a lively night out while raising funds for Baycrest at the recent Decorium Gala.  Organized as part of Decoriums participation in the Baycrest Pro-Am, the gala was held at the Paradise Banquet and Convention Centre in Concord and featured a silent auction, a live auction, music, dancing, refreshments and more.  Some of the items auctioned included holiday cruises, jewelry, cottage packages, as well as sports memorabilia.   Decorium COO Howard Forberg was thrilled with the event.  “It was a great excuse for a night out while raising money for Baycrest.”  He’s looking forward to the 2009 Pro-Am, especially the draft night party.  “Last years party was like Disneyland,” said Forberg.  “You got to meet NHL heroes like Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark and Borje Salming.”  Howard is a long time Baycrest Supporter, and can remember when his great-grandmother celebrated her 100th birthday there more then 30 years ago.  “It’s a staple of our community,” and he says “Everyone knows someone who has benefited from Baycrest.”
